Review: Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type for LeagFrog Tag Reading System
My 4-year-old son, Caleb, and I really enjoyed this book. The 30-page story is about Farmer Brown and his cows who discover the ‘Power of the Press’ when they find an old typewriter in the barn. Bothered by the cold barn at night, the cows decide to voice their feelings by typing letters to Farmer Brown and leaving them attached to the barn door so he can’t miss them. What do the cows want? Electric Blankets. When do they want them? NOW! The story then goes on to tell how Farmer Brown and the cows resolve their situation ending it what I thought to be a very humorous punch line. Like most books associated with the Tag Reading System, the story is well read with character voices and sound effects to keep the story rolling. We liked the illustrations and had fun exploring them with the Tag for hidden surprises. Every two pages comes with a game that asks the reader questions about the page they just read. Shhhh, don’t tell the child, but the games actually test reading and comprehension. In the end, Caleb has decided to give Click, Clack Moo, Cows That Type 10 stars out of a possible 10, mainly because it has typing cows in it. I’m going to give the book 8 Dancing Elephants out of 8, because not only is it a great story to read, but it challenges child, and isn’t that what we want as parents? |
