Are you: A. a dog lover.  B. an adventure lover.  C. All of the above!

If you answered one of the above, try The Dog Island, a game that allows you to choose a dog to play as. You can pick from  breeds, then with some choose a color. You can write your name and pick your gender, which is one thing I like about this game. In some other games, you have to be either a boy or a girl. You don't get to pick.

In this game, your brother or sister (whichever you pick) has an illness that the local doctor cannot cure. He's heard of a doctor on a different island, The Dog Island, that might be able to help you. Your mother forbids you to go there because there have been violent storms around there, then lightens up and lets you go because you are determined to help your sibling. You hitch a ride on the pirate ship, working as one of the crew. You earn a fishing pole so you can fish and also have to (ew!) lick up the dirt on deck. You also tend to a bird that has a problem. You fix him up. Once you get closer to the island, a huge storm arises. The captain says that you'll have to wait because the boat could get broken down, but you don't want to wait, so you jump overboard. Your bird friend flies ahead to The Dog Island to get help after you go under, and a girl named Amalia comes to help you. She saves your life so you can get to Doctor Potan, the doctor your local doctor has heard of. Doctor Potan tells you that you need to learn to sniff to help him, and learn to sniff you do!

This game is one of the few great games where you don't have to read the instruction booklet. It tells you how to do everything in the game, whether it's moving, catching bugs, or pausing the game, and if you forget, it's all in the pause menu (and if you forget how to pause the game, it's all in the instruction booklet). Another great thing about it is you don't have to fight the creatures out to get you. You just have to scare them. I'm not a good fighter in video games. I don't do very well, and I end up losing HP (health points) very easily. If you're like me, this game is a good choice. Just one little thing: if the animal starts to attack, RUN! You can't scare them if they're attacking (which I found out the hard way). Listen to your sniffing teacher, whoever you might have at the time, and sniff around for new smells. The more smells you learn, the higher your level, and the higher your level, the more HP you have. Also, the higher your level, the more smells you'll be able to pick up. You also get to get accessories to put on your dog, and some of them are pretty cool. This is a great game, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

All in all, this is a great game. Try it out; I'm sure you'll have as much fun with it as I did.
