Box ArtDo you love animals? Do you love caring for them, playing with them, even racing against the clock sometimes? How would you like to work at a pet shelter? You are employed at the Pet Adoption Center with your application already sent in! At the Pet Adoption Center by Ubisoft, you get to care for hamsters, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, rabbits, deer, and horses (with a little help from the slightly cracked professor who employed you). What a variety! Now, you don't always get to care for all of them at the same time. Sometimes you'll just have a few different animals; at other times, you'll have the place full! It's a nice challenge to fit in caring for all the animals, playing with the cats and dogs, petting them, trying to get them to like you, which is somewhat pointless because of one of the sadder parts of the game: having to give the animals away.

This game is a lot of fun. You need to check on all the animals and take care of them, doing things like feeding and watering them, brushing them, giving them treats, playing with them, and just taking care of all the animals. At the beginning of each day, you talk to the professor, who tells you if any new animals are there, what you did wrong (if anything) the previous day, and what you did well (if anything) the previous day. If there are any new arrivals, you need to examine them and decide what they need (usually something from the vet).

Sometimes you will need to race against the clock. Maybe you played with the dogs for too long, or maybe the guinea pigs were too cute to let you go. Either way, sometimes you don't want to leave, but since you have to leave at 6:00 (with a 1 second:1 minute ratio), you need to move as fast as possible to get all the animals back indoors and get all the supplies back in the supply store. Sometimes you don't make it, and that's all right. The professor will just make a note of that the next morning (and sometimes you will be mad because you just didn't have time). Moral: Watch the clock whenever possible.

A couple of really nice things about this game: You never run out of supplies, so you never have to waste part of your day trying to go to town to buy some. You never have to (or get to) go off the Adoption Center property. Also, the way you take care of the animals on the game is the way you take care of them in the real world, so it's really helpful if you have one of those pets. For example, we didn't really realize that we needed to cut our guinea pigs nails until I played this game. One of our three guinea pigs is very grateful, and the other two will be soon.

This game is really fun. I would recommend it to anyone (unless your skill is fighting bad guys and you absolutely hate this kind of game). Try it out; I'm sure you'll agree.
