Review: Star Wars: The Clone Wars for Didj
Many Star Wars games have I seen in my 800 years of life, and not very good were most of them. But start as younglings Jedi must if master the ways of the force they will, so release a Clone Wars (based on the Cartoon Network movie and series) educational game for the Didj Leapfrog has. Intended for grades 1-3 this action platformer is, and math skills it teaches. The Star Wars movies my 7-year-old Padawan has not watched, as sensitive feelings she has, but still enjoy this game greatly she did to the joy of her father, whom great geekiness possesses. In this game, young Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi do you play as with many skills and tactics available, including Force Push, Force Jump, deflecting blaster shots with the lightsaber, and reflecting them back at the shooters. Two meters does the character have, a health meter and a force meter. The force meter when using force powers drains, but by defeating enemies it refills. If low your health meter gets, fear not. (Fear leads to anger….) Solving math problems does your health meter refill. Many button combinations this game has, but coach you through it R2-D2 will, and while difficulty my Padawan had remembering them initially, eventually get used to them she did.
Strong in the Light Side of the Force this game is and fun to play we found it. Recommend it for your Didj-playing youngling we do, even those who seen the series have not. |
