Apple Debuts New iPod Design

As portable media devices get smaller and smaller, Apple unveils the smallest media player yet.

CUPERTINO, April 1, /PRNosewire/ In a secret press event today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs today announced the latest in the iPod lineup of portable media players, the iPod Nada. Using patented sub-molecular technology, the Nada is the smallest media player ever made.

Measuring only one molecule in diameter, the iPod Nada offers the features of a modern portable media player with the emphasis on portability. Exercise enthusiasts, students, and theoretical physicists all stand to benefit from this new player that makes the tiny Nano and Shuffle look absolutely gigantic in comparison.

"We're thrilled to present this new technology to our customers," said Jobs, focusing an electron microscope, "and in order to make it work, we've packed in a lot of new technologies, and I mean a LOT. This iPod offers the most immersive multimedia experience yet."

The Nada features a patented "iMind" wireless technology that doesn't just play music into your brain--it pulls the music out. Listeners simply think about a song, and they'll hear as much of it as they know playing in their heads. For video, they can simply concentrate and visualize the video that they want, and they will be able to see it "in their mind's i."

The Nada also marks the first media player that can overcome all known forms of digital rights management and has an unlimited capacity, using the nearly limitless capacity and processing power of the human brain for storage.

The iPod Nada is available immediately from the online Apple Store and Apple Retail Stores nationwide in eight colors for $299. For a limited time, Apple offers free shipping and engraving on every iPod Nada purchased online.

iPod Nada

Funny Dale- I understand the form factor but where is the high capacity?

Happy April 1.

Depends on the size of your brain

If you can imagine the song, it's there. In your case, though, P.D.... ;)
I understand there's some external wireless speakers planned for it, too. If you open your mouth and start to sing, the sound will come right out of your mouth.

iColor for iMind

I'm surprised that there are only 8 colors available. With technology that makes the iPod Nada able to literally pull the music out of my head, it should be able to pull the color out as well. Mine is an off-mauveish eggplanty taupe-like color...you should see it! I've got a pre-production model, and it works great!! The surround sound quality is awesome, and I can change the EQ settings on the fly. Get yours today.

Any word on when are cases will be released? I'd hate to drop it, and lose it, so please request from the manufacturers for me that they include small lit diodes, to help me locate it in the cracks of my hard wood floor. Maybe an included GPS locator would be good as well.
