Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle & Coo Doll with Pro-Islam and Satanic Messages? Nope.
Recently, thanks to a FOX News report out of Philadelphia, a scandal involving the Fisher-Price Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle & Coo Doll has surfaced. According to some owners, the doll, amid babbling, says, "Islam is the light," and some report hearing, "Satan is king." We contacted Mattel, and they assured us, as expected, that this was not the case. Sara Rosales, Vice President of PR for Mattel told us:
Here at Tech Talk for Families, we reviewed the doll earlier this year, and even though our kids have been playing with it ever since, we have yet to hear anything but babbling, blowing "raspberries," and "Mama" out of it. If you listen closely to the babbling, while some of those sounds are similar to the alleged phrase, it sounds more to me like, "Ichabod is the light." But like many song lyrics, it's easy to hear differently than the maker's intent. If there's anything offensive here, it's the raspberry sound, but every baby I've ever known has made this sound, usually when fed green beans. While Mattel has had its problems over the past year, a corporation this large would be unlikely to try subliminal religious advertising, and given that the doll is made in China, not exactly a bastion of Islam, the likelihood of a true conspiracy seems slightly less than my winning the lottery, and I don't buy lottery tickets. If parents have further questions, feel free to contact Mattel at 800/524-TOYS (8697). |

It kinda hard to believe
It kinda hard to believe that so many people think that this doll is saying islam is the light and the toy companies are doing nothing to fix the problem. Maybe they should recall the doll and record a different coo or something. Also the walmart that i work at pulled all the dolls off the shelf!!!!
Why?
Why would they pull a doll that is not saying anything wrong? Do you know how much money they would lose if they did that? There is nothing going on here but a sensationalist news program causing people to hear things and freak out. "It's kinda hard to believe that so many people thing the doll is saying Isalm is the light and the toy companies are doing nothing to fix the problem." What should they do? They're already told everyone that it's all in their heads, there isn't anything more the company can do!
Walmart pulled the dolls off the shelves because they undoubtedly do not want to hear eighty complaints a day about an "evil" doll, not because they believe the doll says anything wrong.
My girlfriend keeps swearing she can hear the doll saying "Islam is the light" as well on the video, but until she pointed out to me what everyone thought it was saying, I did not hear anything but "night", which seemed like something a baby might mumble and did not freak me out. She assured me it was the freakiest thing since that one elmo doll that was somehow programmed to say "Kill Billy" or whatever the kid's name was. I just can't hear it. I can't even hear anything similar to it. I have half a mind to go out and buy one of these dolls just to see if I can hear it in person.
It is true
Well I am not eben a religious person but i work in a retail store Big Lots to be exact and the accusation is very true!!! This is one freaky little doll I could not believe it at first but every 3rd time you make it talk it says "Islam is the light" for sure plain as day no mistalin it and i went through at least 15 of them they all did it. As far as the satan thing goes i did not hear any of them do that but still creepy doll!!!I wanted to buy one just in case people didnt believe me but i wasn't allowed to they were being pulled from shelves.
Why would they tell us the truth?
Why would they tell us the truth? Because they do not want to lose our money! I highly doubt that they would come right out and tell us "Why yes, that is what the doll says"! They know that parents will take their hard earned money to someone else then. Until you have a child of your own, work hard to buy them the stuff they want on what little money that you have left over after paying out over 4 thousand dollars a month on bills, and buy them the one toy that they really want just to hear it spot out something that your family does not believe in, then cork it up.
scary islamic doll!!!
Oh, my God! A doll that says "Islam is the Light!" Even if, and I'm not saying it is true, but EVEN IF the doll said those words, how is that harmful? If in fact you believe that all Muslims are terrorists and there is a conspiracy to "infiltrate" our babies with Islamic phrases, then I guess you're right. It is an EVIL doll. But if you believe that we are all children of God and have different religious affiliations that lead to the same heaven, then NO HARM, NO FOUL. I am so sick of ignorance.
Islam is the light
This hideous doll actually spouts "Islam is the light". The affirmation of a terrorist religion. If it said, "Jesus is great" Mattel would yank it from the store shelves in a heartbeat.
THE DOLL SAYS ISLAM IS THE LIGHT
I FOUND THE DOLL I BOUGHT THE DOLL IT SAYS ISLAM IS THE LIGHT ! I SENT IT TO RADIO JIHAD WITH THE UNITED AMERICAN COMMITEE THEY ARE GOING TO EXPOSE THIS DOLL BY RADIO! THE DOLL WORDS AND THE WORD ISLAM IS THE LIGHT IS AS CLEAR AS A BELL NO BABY GURGLES THERE! AND I FOR ONE RECENT MUSLIMS TRYING TO INDOCTRINATE OUR CHILDERN INTO TERRORISM!
I'd be concerned if I
I'd be concerned if I thought this doll were teaching my kids a religion I disagree with. As a Christian, I believe that heaven was already obtained by Jesus taking our place on the cross, not by our own efforts, so consequently, I don't believe that all roads lead to heaven. That said, the bigger discussion here is whether a publicly held company would deliberately attempt to secretly promote a religion. Mattel is all about profits, not prophets.

Ignorance?
Talk about ignorance. We are not all children of God until we have accepted Jesus Christ as our savior and redeemer of the separation between God and ourselves. Different RELIGIONS don't lead to the same heaven, a relationship with the true and loving creator God leads to the one and only heaven. That said, just don't buy the doll if it freaks you out so much. Get an old fashioned rag doll or something.
One God, One Religion? What rock have you been living under?
Jesus would have been ashamed of all of you so don't you dare call yourself a Christian
