HP Offers Analog Printing TechnologyPALO ALTO, Calif., April 1, 2008 HP announced today a new line of portable analog printers. With the consumer in mind, this new line of printers offers unparalleled portability, small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and no longer requiring expensive ink cartridges. The new HP CarbonStylus #2 features a design with the environmentally-conscious consumer in mind, combining portability, compatibility, and ease of use with "green" technology and a variety of stylish colors. Constructed of 90% white pine, the CarbonStylus offers an all-natural printing experience while minimizing the consumer's "carbon footprint." At only six inches in length and .2 ounces, gone are the days of needing an extra shelf for a printer. "Consumers will love our new patented carbon printing material," said Nor Rae Spohn, senior vice president, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. "Users of the 'ink of the future' will never buy another ink cartridge. As they print on dozens of pages, the entire printer slowly wears itself to a biodegradable stub that can be shredded and composted, at which point, the user starts with a new CarbonStylus." Due to their disposable nature, HP will offer the CarbonStylus individually or in packs of ten. The CarbonConsumer (sold separately) will keep image quality sharp. CarbonStylus #2 will be available in May, 2008 at an SRP of $1.29 or $12.99 for a 10-pack.
