Dungeon Explorer is a deeply immersive and complex game, yet easy to pick up. Here's a collection of hints to help you through the game:

  • Keep all your money in the bank. You rarely, if ever, need it while adventuring, and you'll pick up more while out.
  • Keep all robot modules that you find, and deposit unused ones in the bank. Your robot will become more powerful if you can find enough parts from the same maker (Glorios, Pythagoras, etc.).
  • When in the middle of a battle, if you have to pause to replenish your Battle Palette, feel free to use whatever potions you need from the Items menu before returning to the battle.
  • If possible, spring for the more expensive robots. They'll survive longer and be of more help, and you don't really need the money for anything else.
  • If you actually end up short on money or need to level up, go to one of the lower levels like the Artrium, and fight for a while.
  • If you're running out of space to hold items, look at the monetary value of the items you can't use, and toss the cheapest stuff or feed it to your robot. Always leave a space or 2 open in case you get new robot units, which can't be bought anywhere.
  • Use the B button in conversations to zip through them faster.
  • Parents: note that, if you let your child play online, you'll want to be aware that communication is minimal, but others could possibly send inappropriate messages. (There's no actual chat, just short predetermined messages.) If you're concerned, make sure to stick with friend code games and not share friend codes with strangers. (The friend code games have voice chat, which should be OK if they only play that mode with real-life friends.)
